  1. I'll always remember the day I went to see this movie in theaters and the feelings I had. I was used to the 1987 TMNT cartoon and went into this thinking it was gonna be the same, but I was taken aback at how dark and gritty it was! That scene where Splinter tells how his master was killed always scared me as a child. Now, as an adult, this movie will always have a special place in my heart because they really put so much love and care into this movie! It's the best live action Turtles movie without a doubt!

  2. The 1990 Turtles movie is one of the best movies ever made hands down! It's hard to explain why, but that perfect mixture of darkness, comedy, action and drama. The movie feels genuine authentic and pure, not too much P.C. The soundtrack is epic. The characters lovable. We never saw a movie like that before (or after haha!), with those awesome practical effects! The gang groups of kids in that arcade location and early 90s hip hop / rap grafiti style. The western and eastern culture mixture shown. It all mixes up to a perfect movie! As 12yo I watched it in 1991 in German cinemas and it was the best, most intense and most exciting movie experience I ever had (Matrix in 1999 comes close though, haha). CGI ruined cinema art for sure! We need to go back to the simpler days, with practical FX and whatnot! Turtles 1990 rules!

  3. Christ i remember when i used to watch this all the time as a kid i would be in my michealanglo mask he was always my favorite turtle i would even act like him

  4. Back when all of them were funny, not all so serious and big. And to try to make it funny they just made Mikey sorry when I tried to search how to spell his name there was sooo many different ways SO STUPID AND DUMB!!! Right now I’m rewatching all of the nineties version of TMNT. I’m on the 3rd 🐢

  5. This is possibly the only good live action movie of a 1980s cartoon of all time. If anybody thinks that I'm wrong, please let me know. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that statement.

  6. Unfortunately, I was only three when this movie came out, so I didn't get to see it until it was on VHS. The first movie I ever saw in the theater was The Addams Family, a year later. However, I did get my grandma to take me to see Secret of the Ooze. We were late to the show, but I didn't care. I do have fond memories of seeing this trailer at the ends of the TMNT cartoon tapes that my mom got from Burger King.

  7. Reason this was the best film….. It was directly based on the Fall Of Shredder storyline from the original comics. I had the issues(in a one volume set) it was based on.

Soooo faithful to the original comics. I loved it!
